Liam Harkness, I.I.S.T , Sports Therapist and AIS Educator (Advanced Seminar Trained) Active Isolated Stretching Specialist
Liam graduated as a Sports Therapist from Exeter College, UK in 1995 and specializes in optimum performance, exercise rehabilitation and preventative care. He is a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) and has recently been invited as a course examiner for FHT programs in Asia. Before moving to Kuala Lumpur, Liam was a household name in the fitness industry in Hong Kong where he spent 15 years teaching and training some of Asia’s top athletes and writing articles for local publications like The South China Morning Post and several global publications. He currently has a bi-weekly column “HealThy Self” on The Star Newspaper. Liam first met Aaron Mattes at a training seminar in Hong Kong and Aaron’s Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) work revolutionised his approach to injury treatment and optimum performance. 6 months later Aaron took Liam under his tutelage and invited him to work and study at his clinic in Sarasota Florida. Liam is currently the only Advanced Certified AIS educator in South East Asia and runs training programs for health and fitness professionals, physiotherapists and coaches at the National Sports Institute Malaysia. Privately, Liam’s passion for guiding clients on their individual path to optimum health has taken him all across the globe studying modalities like Holistic Lifestyle Coaching and Visceral Manipulation at the world re-known Chek and Barral Institutes. Liam also travels from time to time to international wellness resorts
